We meet Tyler Chambers who has got himself in a little bit of trouble. He's thrown into jail and things aren't looking so good for him. And from the very start, the author pulls me in with humor. He nicknames the policeman "Hulk" and I smirked as I pictured the situation. Tyler's partner in crime spills his guts. And then when the policeman says, "Not much of a Bonnie to your Clyde, was he?" I knew I was going to love this book.

Tyler beats the rap by joining the United States Navy. After boot camp, he is stationed in Honolulu. He bets $50 bucks he can get a date with a glamour model in uniform that outranks him. And that's when the story really takes off. After a few twists and turns in the story, Tyler is seeing two different women, Holly (this is who I was rooting for) and Debbie (his friend). And they're both beautiful. It's funny because he is dating one because he WANTS to and the other because he HAS too. The plot thickens and Tyler finds himself in an awkward situation.

Straight away I had a clear sense of Tyler's bad boy character. Every single one of us has a fundamental flaw, a defect of character, an Achilles' heel. And of course, Tyler had his. And I think that's what made him such a great character. He felt like a real person. And that's why I liked him so much. I also loved Holly too. And with the cliff hanger, I can't wait for book 2.

Casey's prose is a joy--funny, brash, witty and rich with ironic twists. I loved the witty banter and the characters had me laughing. This book captured my complete attention and I was glued to the pages as I anxiously flipped through them to see what was going to happen next! I'd definitely recommend this to my friends.

Trouble Triangle A Romantic Comedy Tyler Trouble Trilogy Book 1 edition by Travis Casey Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Do you love a man in uniform? Always falling for the bad guy? Love a guy with moxy that you can clean up and take home to daddy? Tyler's your man.
When he arrives in Hawaii, Tyler's head is turned by Debbie, a brunette beauty, but Debbie has a secret worthy of discharge. With his charm and skill for mayhem, Tyler finds himself in a solid relationship with Holly, the base's hottest airhead, just when Debbie decides to give him a try. Tyler is not one to back down from a challenge, and goes full steam ahead with both women. Turns out the web had been weaved before Tyler's involvement, putting him in the middle of a very sticky situation.
This book is full of fun experiences and even the small snippets of Tyler working on the ship are rather enjoyable. Travis Casey has a great sense of humor and shows great writing skill in this debut novel.
This book had all the elements I like. There are twists and turns, lots of wit, and Tyler, a main character who surprises me. The women characters are independent and intelligent, but not beyond getting into trouble with Tyler and being underhanded. It's not anything like I expected from a love story about a guy in the Navy, at all. It's way better.

Tyler starts out in trouble after being arrested. It seems bad, but he soon discovers his true talent of talking himself out of complicated situations. Once Tyler hits his stride a few chapters in, many will find themselves smitten and rooting for him, even when it's his own fault that he has gotten into these predicaments. Underneath, Tyler reveals another side of the bad boy he appears to be who will go to great lengths to make the people he cares about happy.

I read the bulk of this book in one night, getting hardly any sleep. I couldn't tear myself away from it. It stuck in my head and made me think about it whenever I tried to put it down, and I needed to know what would happen next. I was left feeling quite satisfied by a complete and well done story and Tyler, a leading man worthy of a trilogy.
This book is a fun romp in the US Navy as seen through the eyes of the main character, Tyler Chambers, an enlistee who has decided to serve in order to avert a downward spiral in his life. He seems to be one of those people who can't help being in perpetual trouble. We can blame it on the parents the mother, who kicked him out of the house, and the father, who has been nonexistent for years.

Tyler had me rooting for him from the start; he is one of those endearing jerks who somehow rouses sympathy in even the biggest critic. He is incorrigible. I was torn between wanting to pull his socks up for him, and wanting to smack him around and send him off to a psychiatrist for help. But Tyler would say something like, "Ooh, you smacked me, you bad girl," and then ask for more. He seems genuinely interested in turning things around and trying to do the right thing apart from his complicated sex life, which is full of twists and turns. Just when you think things cannot get any more ridiculous, something else happens yet again.

Action-packed, this book is not about porn or smut; there are no graphic descriptions of what happens in the bedroom. What happens in the women's restroom is an entirely different matter. If you think that the Tyler Chambers type of character is a moral sort of low-life, you may not particularly like this book; I found it entertaining.

I would compare this author's style to that of John Grisham, the American author of legal thrillers. The work is more heavily invested in plot than detailed descriptions of surroundings and settings; the reader is mostly at liberty to visualize these, with the exception of the various articles of women's clothing, and a bit about the Hawaiian scenery near the end. There is no deep thinking required here; it is what it is - a light read - presented very clearly.

There is an interesting twist at the end, and I find myself thinking about Tyler and wondering if he will ever straighten himself out. Fortunately for fans of Travis Casey, there are two more books in the series and you can be sure I will read those. Fun read! This would be great for the beach.
